While there are all sorts of weight loss plans on the market, experts agree that the best plan for you is one that works for your lifestyle and personal health history, and that you feel like you can stick with.

If you have tried multiple commercial weight loss plans and are still struggling to find a method that actually garners results? It might be time to speak with a specialist about trying a weight loss plan tailored just for you. These programs help you tackle weight loss challenges by providing structure in the form of individual coaching and support throughout your weight loss journey.

Nutrition and Fitness

Nutrition and fitness are closely intertwined, and both are essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Here are some key points to consider:

Nutrition

  • Balanced Diet: Consuming a variety of foods ensures you get the necessary macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) your body needs.
  • Hydration: Staying well-hydrated is crucial for overall health and can significantly impact your physical performance.
  • Pre- and Post-Workout Nutrition: Eating the right foods before and after exercise can enhance your performance and recovery. Carbohydrates provide energy, while proteins help with muscle repair.

Fitness

  • Regular Exercise: Engaging in regular physical activity helps improve cardiovascular health, build muscle, and maintain a healthy weight.
  • Variety of Workouts: Incorporating different types of exercises, such as strength training, cardio, and flexibility exercises, can provide comprehensive fitness benefits.
  • Consistency: Maintaining a consistent workout routine is key to achieving long-term fitness goals.
  • Combining good nutrition with regular physical activity can lead to better health outcomes and improved overall well-being.

GLP-1 Weight loss

Compounded semaglutide is a prescription GLP-1 medication that may support healthy weight loss. The pharmacy makes it by combining several components together. Compounded semaglutide has the same active ingredient as the “name brand” medications Wegovy and Ozempic, but it’s generally less expensive and easier to access.

Semaglutide, its active ingredient, works by mimicking the activity of a naturally-occurring hormone in the body called GLP-1, which is released by your small intestine minutes after you eat. It binds to GLP-1 receptors in the body, causing the stomach to empty at a slower rate and also regulating the brain’s hunger signals. As a result, you feel fuller faster so you consume fewer calories.

Body Type Diet

The concept of a body type diet is based on the idea that people have different body types, known as somatotypes, which can influence their metabolism and how they respond to different foods. The three main body types are:

  1. Ectomorph: Typically lean and long, with difficulty building muscle. Ectomorphs may benefit from a diet higher in carbohydrates and protein to support muscle growth and energy needs.
  2. Mesomorph: Naturally muscular and well-built, with a high metabolism and responsive muscle cells. Mesomorphs often do well with a balanced diet that includes a good mix of protein, carbohydrates, and fats.
  3. Endomorph: Generally softer and rounder, with a tendency to store fat. Endomorphs might find it helpful to focus on a diet lower in carbohydrates and higher in protein and healthy fats to manage weight and support muscle maintenance.

Mental Health & Weight Management

Managing weight can have a significant impact on mental health, and vice versa. Here are some key points to consider:

  1. Interrelationship Between Obesity and Mental Health: Research shows a complex relationship between obesity and mental health. People with obesity are at a higher risk of developing mental health issues like depression and anxiety, and those with mental health issues are more likely to experience weight gain1.
  2. Behavioral Therapy: Intensive behavioral therapy can be effective for weight management. This involves working with a therapist to change eating and exercise habits, set realistic goals, and track progress. It can help address both weight and mental health issues simultaneously2.
  3. Impact of Weight on Mental Health: Excess weight can lead to social isolation, low self-esteem, and chronic pain, all of which can contribute to mental health problems. Addressing weight issues can improve overall quality of life and mental well-being1.
  4. Support from Healthcare Providers: It’s important to discuss any emotional or psychological barriers with your doctor. They can offer support and resources to help manage both weight and mental health3.
